During the recent SAE WCX 2025 event in Detroit, representatives of the Italian SAE Sections, led by our President, Federico Millo, had the pleasure of meeting with SAE International President Robert (Bob) Ireland and CEO Jacqueline El-Sayed on April 9.

In this fruitful meeting, the Torino and Napoli Sections had the opportunity to present a summary of their 2024 activities and share plans for 2025, highlighting the increasing involvement of students and young professionals in mobility engineering.

A particularly meaningful moment was the presentation of the Best Student Paper Awards, personally handed over by Bob Ireland and Jacqueline El-Sayed to the following winners:

• Elia Grano (Politecnico di Torino)
  Paper: “Leveraging Traffic-in-the-Loop Simulations to Assess the Impact of Traffic on Vehicle Energy Consumption”
• Francesco Mazzeo (Politecnico di Torino)
  Paper: “Health and Condition Monitoring Tool for Real-Time and On-Board Diagnosis of PEM Fuel Cell in Heavy Duty Vehicles”
