Hydrogen for Sustainable Mobility Forum

Convergent Science and SAE International Torino Section are delighted to announce the first edition of the Hydrogen for Sustainable Mobility Forum, taking place at the Energy Center of Politecnico di Torino on October 17-18, 2023.

This two-day workshop will focus on the potential of green hydrogen as a fuel for sustainable transportation systems. Technical presentations and a business-focused keynote will offer a comprehensive overview of innovative, state-of-the-art hydrogen technologies. Attendees will learn about the research activities underway in academia and industry, both in the Turin area and around the globe, to develop a new generation of hydrogen-fueled internal combustion engines and other hydrogen devices.

This workshop presents a valuable opportunity to connect and exchange ideas with an international cohort of attendees. We invite all stakeholders, including OEMs, tier 1 suppliers, public entities, decision makers, engineers, and researchers from industry and academia, to join us for this event.

EVENT DETAILS

DAY 1: CONVERGE Application Workshop - Tuesday, October 17, 2023

The CONVERGE Application Workshop is a free one-day event focused on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling of hydrogen technologies. Our lineup of technical experts will share their latest research into hydrogen internal combustion engines, fuel cells, and storage systems. Furthermore, our own Convergent Science engineers will showcase CONVERGE's solutions for overcoming the challenges of hydrogen CFD simulations.

DAY 2: 1st International Workshop "H24ICE: Hydrogen as a Fuel for Internal Combustion Engines" - Wednesday, October 18, 2023

The 1st International Workshop "H24ICE: Hydrogen as a Fuel for Internal Combustion Engines" is organized by SAE International Turin Section.

The workshop will open with a keynote address from Kelly Senecal, co-founder of Convergent Science, visiting professor at the University of Oxford, and author of Racing Toward Zero: The Untold Story of Driving Green. Following the opening keynote, a series of business-focused talks and technical presentations will offer a comprehensive overview of the most innovative technologies for hydrogen-fueled internal combustion engines. Our speakers will provide a variety of perspectives on hydrogen engines for different market segments, including racing and high-performance, heavy-duty, and off-road applications.

Speakers from Alpine Racing, Cummins, Ferrari, PUNCH, and SWRI have been confirmed. More speakers will be announced in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!

Torino Incontra Conference Centre - 2013

The performance of composites makes them attractive in a variety of applications. However, composites have historically not been a very cost competitive option to metals due to several factors - primarily very expensive materials and labor intensive manufacturing methods. As more automated manufacturing methods for composite components are beginning to be developed, the total cost come down helping to offset the issue of raw materials which makes composites a more viable material resource in aerospace, automotive and wind energy industries.

Turin, November 27-28, 2012

International Conference within Mecatronic Connection - 2012

Land and air transportation, as well as industrial production and health are more and more featured by the need to reduce defects and costs, but at the same time to increase energy efficiency, sustainability and safety. Mechatronics combines different tools (electronics, mechanics, information technology, control systems) to achieve these outputs. The Internet of the Things is taking over in industrial processes simulation as an intelligent system to reduce failure and resources. How mechatronics will be modifying people life and industry worldwide is the core topic of the International Conference Programme.

Turin, June 9-10, 2011

TO ZEV - 2011

This symposium has addressed both powertrain and automobile body systems approaches towards "zero emissions vehicles", more specifically: fuel consumption and emission reductions achievable through electric motors and advanced internal combustion engines technologies and powertrain hybridization and electrification, low rolling resistance tires, aerodynamic improvement, and infomobility services.
